Rita

Rita

Rita made her ‘home’ in a road construction workers camp in southern Baja, Mexico. The construction workers fed the 7 week old puppy food scraps until their work ran out. When they broke camp, they left Rita behind.

Fortunately, Liz and Bob stopped to pick up the hitch hiking workers and saw Rita. Liz and Bob immediately picked her up too, knowing she deserved a good home, and confident they would find an excellent family for her. The workers agreed that was the best plan.

Judy generously offered to adopt Rita. A year later, Rita started limping and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Fortunately, Judy was able to provide her with high quality physical therapy. Now that she’s completely recovered, she’s very fast!

Today Rita lives in style and comfort in a beautiful Victorian home in Port Townsend, Washington. She sleeps on her comfy ottoman, where she can best ‘run the household.’ As an only child, Rita’s definitely indulged.

According to Judy, the best guess is that Rita is a cross between a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Boxer.
